364 reasons to keep moving forward: A celebration of 2021 and what’s to come

It’s all too easy to write off 2021 as a repeat of the year before as new variants emerged and each day blurred into the next. Yet in a seemingly standstill year, we journeyed across the world from the Lost City of Jordan to the Palace of Winds in Jaipur, celebrated the unstoppable good that abounds in the face of a global crisis, and found 364 more reasons to keep moving forward.

Musicians filled hospital hallways with hope, a library between two gang sites opened a new chapter for a community, and a Holocaust survivor shared her story of love over hate. Amid riots that rocked South Africa, communities danced in the streets and rallied to support each other.

And while fears of a changing climate proved to ring true, we witnessed numerous victories in conservation from introducing robot dolphins to aquariums and fishing for water from the skies to freeing India’s last dancing bears. Through a partnership with WaterBear, the first streaming platform dedicated to the preservation of our planet, Beautiful News not only put the spotlight on groundbreaking environmentalists, but also turned audiences into climate activists

As we round off this year, there’s bound to be uncertainty of what lies ahead. But one thing is sure: Beautiful News will continue to unearth stories of the most extraordinary people, places, and animals. Prepare to be surprised, delighted and enthralled by a penguin colony that runs a neighbourhood, giant bubbles that reduce pollution, and a magical forest of trolls. 2022 will be filled with even more potential and unbridled joy. Let’s celebrate.
